You do not pick a sender address on this form. Add your addresses under the organization menu → Manage → Addresses. You choose the sender address on each shipment or in a shipping rule. DSV Road (DB Schenker) ships between addresses in the EU, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Norway.
Before you start
- A myDSV (formerly Schenker Connect) account that DSV has set up for online booking, and its access key. Ask your DSV contact to set it up.
- An account on developer.dsv.com with a subscription to Booking - Connect, plus Tracking - Connect if you want your shipments tracked. Each subscription’s primary key is on your Profile page there.
- A written note to your DSV contact that Zippendo sends DSV shipments on your behalf. DSV’s terms ask for it before you send.
- For Test mode: the test access key and subscription keys for DSV’s Connect test environment. Ask your DSV contact for them.
Connect DSV Road (DB Schenker)
1
Open All carriers
In the sidebar, click Carriers, then open the All carriers tab.
2
Find DSV Road (DB Schenker)
On the DSV Road (DB Schenker) card, click Connect.
3
Fill in the form
The Connect carrier window opens. Enter a Carrier name, your Booking subscription key and your Connect access key. Tracking subscription key, User group ID and Test mode are under Optional fields.
4
Connect the carrier
Click Connect. You see “Carrier connected”, and the carrier appears on the My carriers tab.
Fields on the form
Connect does nothing until Carrier name, Booking subscription key and Connect access key have a value.
Test mode sends your shipments to DSV’s Connect test environment instead of the real one. The test keys only work with Test mode on, and your live keys only with it off. Leave it off for real orders. See Test mode.
After you connect
The carrier appears on My carriers with a Connected badge. You choose the product on each shipment or in a shipping rule, not on this form. See Carrier products and services. A product that is not on your DSV agreement is refused when you send, with DSV’s reason.
DSV charges road freight by volume, so every parcel needs a weight, a length, a width and a height. Package type (Colli (CI), Box (BX) or Euro pallet (EP)) applies to every parcel in the shipment.
DSV Road (DB Schenker) has no return product and no service points in Zippendo.
Services and extra details
Choose services on the shipment or in a shipping rule.
Under Extra details for the carrier you also find Label format (PDF (A6) or ZPL (thermal) for a label printer), Package type, and Currency for the insured value and the cash-on-delivery amount.
Customs
A shipment that leaves or enters the EU (to or from the United Kingdom, Switzerland or Norway) needs both Export declarant and Import declarant. The choices are By DSV, By someone else, Not required and Not specified. Neither has a default, because DSV may charge for a declaration it makes. Your VAT and EORI numbers come from Organization settings, or from the brand when it has its own customs identifiers. Give every order line a price in the shipment’s currency, so the value of the goods is declared. To send a commercial or proforma invoice with the shipment, turn on Generate commercial invoice or Generate proforma invoice under Document generation in the shipping rule. See Customs and documents.Pickups and tracking
- DSV Road (DB Schenker) is not available under Pickups. DSV collects every shipment as part of the shipment itself. See Schedule a pickup for the carriers that are.
- The Pickup details section does not appear for these products, so you cannot set a pickup window on a shipment you create in Zippendo. A shipment created through the Zippendo API with pickup details is collected in that window. Otherwise Zippendo asks DSV to collect between 09:00 and 17:00: the same day when you send before 15:00 on a weekday, or else the next weekday.
- Zippendo cannot cancel a DSV Road (DB Schenker) shipment. Contact DSV with the tracking number.
- When Tracking subscription key is filled in, Zippendo fetches tracking updates from DSV about once an hour, and they appear on the shipment’s Tracking tab. There is nothing else to set up. Without the key, no tracking events appear. See Carrier tracking webhooks.
- The tracking number is the number DSV gives the shipment, and the Tracking link opens DSV’s public tracking page.
Change or remove the connection
To change it, open Carriers → My carriers and click Edit carrier on the card. The Edit carrier page has two sections:- General: Carrier name, and Brand if your organization has brands.
- Carrier settings: the same DSV Road (DB Schenker) fields as on the connect form, including Test mode.
