GLS Poland ships parcels from Poland: within the country and to the rest of the EU, to GLS parcel shops and parcel lockers, with cash on delivery, return labels for your customers and courier collections. GLS Poland has its own form: for GLS in other countries see Connect GLS Denmark, Connect GLS (MyGLS) and Connect GLS Germany, Austria, Belgium, France or Ireland. The fields that every carrier shares are on Carrier credentials.
You do not pick a sender address on this form. Add your addresses under the organization menu → Manage → Addresses. You choose the sender address on each shipment or in a shipping rule. Every outbound product ships from an address in Poland.

Before you start

  • A contract with GLS Poland and the user name and password of your ADE-Plus user, which GLS Poland gives you with the contract. If GLS refuses the user when you send, ask GLS Poland to enable WebAPI access for it.
  • For Test mode, a test login from GLS Poland. Your live login does not work in the test system.

Connect GLS Poland

1

Open All carriers

In the sidebar, click Carriers, then open the All carriers tab.
2

Find GLS Poland

Find the GLS Poland card and click Connect.
3

Fill in the form

The Connect carrier window opens. Enter a Carrier name, your Username and Password. Test mode is the only field under Optional fields.
4

Connect the carrier

Click Connect. You see “Carrier connected”, and the carrier appears on the My carriers tab.

Fields on the form

Connect does nothing until Carrier name, Username and Password have a value. Zippendo saves your details without checking them with GLS. A mistake shows up the first time you send a shipment.

Keep the password up to date

When GLS refuses the username or password, Zippendo stops sending requests with that password for about an hour, so that repeated attempts do not get your ADE-Plus user blocked. When you change your ADE-Plus password, update Password on Edit carrier straight away. Zippendo uses the new password at once.

After you connect

The carrier appears on My carriers with a Connected badge and a Beta badge. You choose the product on each shipment or in a shipping rule. See Carrier products and services. A parcel takes at most 31.5 kg. Destinations outside the EU are not offered: these shipments carry no customs data. When you send a shipment, Zippendo hands it to GLS straight away. In ADE-Plus each shipment shows as its own pickup receipt, named “Zippendo” and the shipment’s reference. You cannot change or delete a shipment in ADE-Plus after that.

Services and options

  • Cash on delivery: GLS collects the amount you enter in COD amount (PLN) from the receiver. On GLS BusinessParcel.
  • Delivery before 10:00, Delivery before 12:00 and Saturday delivery: on GLS BusinessParcel. Choose one of the two delivery times, not both.
  • Label format: the form says: “PDF (default), or ZPL for a Zebra label printer at 203 or 300 dpi. Labels are 10 × 16 cm.”
  • Package size (on GLS ShopReturn): the form says: “The size GLS prints on the return label: S up to 8 × 38 × 60 cm, M up to 19 × 38 × 60 cm, L up to 41 × 38 × 60 cm. Without it, Zippendo picks the smallest size that fits the parcel’s dimensions, or L.”
Your GLS contract decides which services you can use: GLS refuses a service it does not include when you send. Services are available within Poland only.

Service points

GLS ShopDelivery and GLS ShopDelivery to a parcel locker deliver to a GLS parcel shop or parcel locker. Choose it in the Service point section of the shipment before you send. The receiver needs both a phone number and an email address, because GLS sends the arrival notice there. Zippendo does not send the shipment without them. See Pick a service point.

Return labels

GLS ShopReturn is one parcel per return. Your customer is the sender and needs an email address. Zippendo shows the return label on the shipment’s Documents tab. Pass it on to your customer, who takes the parcel to a GLS parcel shop in Poland. See Inbound and returns.

Labels, tracking and pickups

  • Each parcel gets its own label and GLS parcel number. GLS issues a label once, when you send. If GLS returns no usable label, Zippendo removes the shipment from ADE-Plus and tells you, so you can send it again.
  • Tracking: once Zippendo switches GLS tracking on, GLS sends tracking updates to Zippendo as they happen. Until then, each shipment shows the GLS parcel number and a link to GLS’s tracking page. Shipments sent with Test mode on are not tracked. See Carrier tracking webhooks.
  • Pickups: you can order a GLS courier under Pickups for addresses in Poland. GLS collects at the address it holds for your ADE-Plus user, from the next working day on. You cannot choose a time window, and GLS takes one courier order per day. See Schedule a pickup.

Change or remove the connection

To change it, open Carriers → My carriers and click Edit carrier on the card. Carrier settings holds Username, Password and Test mode. Click Save. You see “Carrier updated”. To remove it, click Delete on the same page, type the carrier name in capital letters, and click Delete. Shipping rules that use this carrier are deleted with it. Shipments you already sent keep their labels and tracking numbers.
