Matkahuolto sends parcels within Finland and abroad: to service points and lockers, to homes and businesses, as freight, and as customer returns. The fields that every carrier shares are on Carrier credentials.
You do not pick a sender address on this form. Add your addresses under the organization menu → Manage → Addresses. You choose the sender address on each shipment or in a shipping rule.

Before you start

  • You need your Matkahuolto sender account number (Matkahuolto calls it SenderId). It comes with your agreement with Matkahuolto.
  • That is the only detail you enter. Zippendo signs in to Matkahuolto for you, so there is no user ID or password to fill in.
  • Learn more on the card opens Matkahuolto’s page for business customers.
You can connect Matkahuolto more than once, for example one connection per account number. Give each one its own Carrier name.

Enter your Account number. Test mode is optional.

Fields on the form

Connect does nothing until Carrier name and Account number have a value. Test mode sends your shipments to Matkahuolto’s test system, so no real shipments are created. Leave it off for real shipments. See Test mode.

After you connect

The carrier appears on My carriers with a Connected badge. You choose the product on each shipment or in a shipping rule, not on this form. See Carrier products and services. Products you send with:
  • Jakopaketti (business delivery), Kotijakelu (home delivery), XXS-luukkujakelu (mail-slot delivery), Lavarahti (pallet home delivery) and Rahti (freight) within Finland
  • Lähellä-paketti (parcel point) and XXS (parcel point) to a service point or locker in Finland
  • Ulkomaan Lähellä-paketti (international parcel point), Ulkomaan Jakopaketti (international business delivery) and Ulkomaan Kotijakelu (international home delivery) abroad
Return products: Asiakaspalautus (customer return) and Ulkomaan asiakaspalautus (international return). Both offer the Label-free return (activation code) service. Extra choices on a shipment, under Extra details for the carrier, depend on the product. They include Receiver language (Finnish, Swedish or English), Contents description, Delivery PIN code on some home deliveries, and Request pickup on business delivery and freight products. Request pickup asks Matkahuolto to collect the shipment from your sender address. Some products also offer dangerous goods services.

Service point products

Lähellä-paketti (parcel point), XXS (parcel point) and Ulkomaan Lähellä-paketti (international parcel point) deliver to a service point. Choose the service point on the shipment before you send. See Pick a service point and Service points.

Pickups, tracking and customs

  • Matkahuolto is not available under Pickups. Use Request pickup on the shipment instead, where the product offers it. See Schedule a pickup for the carriers that are.
  • Zippendo fetches tracking updates from Matkahuolto every hour. There is nothing to set up. See Carrier tracking webhooks.
  • For shipments abroad, Matkahuolto creates the customs declaration itself, so Zippendo does not add its own customs documents. See Customs and documents.

Change or remove the connection

To change it, open Carriers → My carriers and click Edit carrier on the card. The Edit carrier page has two sections:
  • General: Carrier name, and Brand if your organization has brands.
  • Carrier settings: Account number and Test mode.
Click Save. You see “Carrier updated”. To remove it, click Delete on the same page, type the carrier name in capital letters, and click Delete. Shipping rules that use this carrier are deleted with it. Shipments you already sent keep their labels and tracking numbers.
