This guide shows how to connect a new carrier, and how to change or remove the carriers you already have.

Before you start

Have your carrier credentials ready, such as a customer number, an account number or an API key. Each carrier asks for different details, and the form shows exactly which. The guide for each carrier explains its fields, see Connect a carrier or integration.
You do not choose a sender address when you connect a carrier. Add your addresses under the organization menu → Manage → Addresses, and choose the sender address on each shipment or in a shipping rule.

Connect a new carrier

1

Open All carriers

In the sidebar, click Carriers, then open the All carriers tab.
2

Click Connect on the carrier

Find the carrier you want, for example PostNord, GLS Denmark or Bring, and click Connect on its card.
3

Fill in the Connect carrier window

  • Carrier name: a name you recognize, such as “PostNord Main” or “DHL Express”. You see it on My carriers and when you pick a carrier on a shipment. It starts as the carrier’s own name.
  • Brand: shown only if your organization has brands. See Brands below.
  • Required fields: the carrier credentials, such as a customer number or an API key. Connect does nothing until every required field has a value.
  • Optional fields: extra details, and for most carriers the Test mode checkbox. Leave Test mode off for real shipments.
4

Click Connect

You see “Carrier connected”, and the carrier appears on the My carriers tab with a Connected badge.
Zippendo does not check your carrier credentials with the carrier when you connect. The first shipment you send shows whether they work. To try it safely, turn on Test mode first. See Test mode. Next, choose which products and services to use, on each shipment or in a shipping rule. See Carrier products and services.

If you have no carriers yet

When My carriers is empty, it says “No carriers yet” and shows a Browse carriers button. Click it to go to All carriers and connect your first carrier.

Change a carrier

1

Open the carrier

In the sidebar, click Carriers. On the My carriers tab, click Edit carrier on the card.
2

Make your changes

The Edit carrier page opens. Under General, change the Carrier name or the Brand. Under Carrier settings, change the carrier credentials or Test mode.
3

Save

Click Save. You see “Carrier updated successfully”.
Every setting on this page is described in Carrier settings.

Remove a carrier

On the Edit carrier page, click Delete. Type the carrier name in capital letters to confirm, then click Delete. You see “Carrier deleted successfully”.
Removing a carrier also deletes every shipping rule that uses it. Shipments you already sent keep their labels and tracking numbers. You cannot undo this.

Several connections

You can connect the same carrier more than once, for example “PostNord Oslo” and “PostNord Bergen”, each with its own carrier credentials. Give each connection a different name so your team can tell them apart. When you create a shipment or a shipping rule, you pick which connection to use. How many carriers you can connect depends on your plan: 1 on Free, 3 on Standard, 8 on Growth, and as many as you like on Pro and Enterprise. When you reach the limit, connecting another carrier shows “You’ve reached your plan’s limit. Upgrade your plan or remove something you no longer use.” See Billing and usage.

Brands

If your organization uses brands, you can give a carrier to one brand. Pick it in the Brand field when you connect or change the carrier. The form says: “Only this brand can use this carrier.” Carriers without a brand can be used by every brand.

If something goes wrong

If the problem continues, note the exact message and contact support with the carrier name and what you were doing.
