Before a printer can print for your organization, two things happen:
  1. You authorize Zippendo Printer. You sign in to the app through your browser and allow it to use your Zippendo account.
  2. Someone approves the printer. Each printer added in the app waits as Pending approval on the Printers page until someone approves it.

Start in the app

In Zippendo Printer, click Sign in with your browser. Your browser opens Zippendo. Sign in if you are asked to.

Authorize

The page Authorize Zippendo Printer shows the account you are signed in with. Click Authorize Zippendo Printer. If your browser asks whether to open Zippendo Printer, allow it.

Go back to the app

The page says Authorization complete. Close the tab. The app is now signed in.
Click Reject instead if you did not start the sign-in yourself. You have 10 minutes to finish. After that, start again from the app.
By authorizing, you give Zippendo Printer access to manage printers and receive print jobs for your organizations. Only authorize the app on computers you trust.

Approve a new printer

A printer added in Zippendo Printer shows on Printers with the status Pending approval. In the app it says Waiting for approval in Zippendo. Open Printers in the sidebar, open the menu on the printer’s row and click Approve. The status changes to Active, and within about half a minute the app shows the printer as ready. Only approve printers you recognize. An approved printer receives labels and documents for your organization.

Troubleshooting

  • The browser page says Request expired. More than 10 minutes passed. Click Sign in with your browser in the app again.
  • The browser page says Incomplete link. The link was incomplete. Start again from the app instead of using a saved link.
  • The app stays on Continue in your browser. Finish the browser page that opened. If you closed it, click Cancel in the app and Sign in with your browser again.
  • The printer stays on Waiting for approval in Zippendo. Someone must click Approve on the printer’s row under Printers.
