You add printers in Zippendo Printer, the app on the computer the printers are connected to. You manage them on the Printers page in Zippendo. There is no button to add a printer on the Printers page itself.

Add a printer

1

Install Zippendo Printer

Click Printers in the sidebar, then Download Zippendo Printer, and install the app on the computer your printer is connected to.
2

In the app, click Sign in with your browser and authorize Zippendo Printer in the browser. See Printer authorization.
3

Add the printer in the app

Click Add your first printer (or + Add printer). Choose the Organization, the Printer on this computer, a Display name and the Printer type (Label printer or Document printer), then click Add printer.
4

Approve it

The printer appears on Printers with the status Pending approval. Click Approve in its row menu. The status changes to Active and the printer can receive print jobs.
Every step in detail: Set up Zippendo Printer.

Manage your printers

Open the menu at the end of a printer’s row on Printers:
  • View opens the printer’s page with its details and its print jobs. Clicking the row does the same.
  • Edit opens Edit printer. Change the name, the type (Label or Document), or turn on Rotate wide pages to portrait if wide labels come out sideways on your label roll.
  • Approve appears while the printer is Pending approval. It lets the printer receive print jobs.
  • Disable appears while the printer is Active. It stops new print jobs right away. A disabled printer cannot be turned back on. To use it again, delete it and add it again in Zippendo Printer.
  • Delete removes the printer for good. You confirm by typing the printer’s name in capital letters.
Removing a printer with the trash icon in Zippendo Printer also deletes it from Printers.
Each printer in your organization needs its own name. You can have as many label printers and document printers as you need, for example one label printer per packing table.
