An automation does a job for you when something happens in Zippendo. For example, it can post in Slack when a shipment is sent, or put a shipping rule on every new shipment. You set automations up under Automations in the sidebar.

How an automation works

  • Trigger: the event that starts it, such as Shipment sent or Tracking updated. Each automation has one.
  • Actions: what Zippendo does next, such as Send Slack message, Apply shipping rule or Send Klaviyo event.
  • Field match, Branch, Delay and Exit: check a detail and take one path or another, wait before the next step, and end the path.
The full list of triggers and actions is in Build an automation.

Statuses

The Automations list

The list shows each automation’s Name and description, Status, Trigger, the number of Actions and when it was last Updated. From the list you can create, edit, test and delete automations. How many automations you can have depends on your plan: Free 1, Standard 5, Growth 20, Pro 50, Enterprise unlimited. See Billing and usage.

Brands

If your organization uses brands, you can give an automation a brand. It then runs only for that brand’s shipments and orders. An automation without a brand runs for every brand. Pick the Brand when you create the automation: you cannot change it later in the app. A developer can still change it through the API.
