Set it up on a shipping rule
1
Open a shipping rule
Click Shipping rules in the sidebar and open a rule, or click Add shipping rule.
2
Turn on automatic printing
Click Configure on the Automatic printing card, turn on Print labels automatically and choose a Label printer. To print packing slips and invoices too, turn on Print documents automatically and choose a Document printer. Click Done.
3
Save the rule
Every shipment sent with this rule now prints automatically.
Only approved printers can be chosen. See Adding and managing printers. Packing slips and invoices only print if they exist on the shipment: click Configure on the Document generation card in the same rule and turn them on.
Set it up on one shipment
A shipment without a shipping rule prints automatically when you choose printers on it: in the Printer settings box on Create shipment, or with Configure in the shipment’s Printer settings box. Leave them on None to print by hand. See Shipment printer settings. How it works
- Printing starts when you send the shipment and the carrier returns the label.
- When the shipment has a shipping rule, the rule decides what prints and where. Printers chosen on the shipment are not used for automatic printing.
- Each label and document becomes a print job on the printer’s Jobs tab. If a job fails, retry it there or click Print in the row’s menu in the shipment’s Documents card. See Printer jobs.
If nothing prints
- Check the rule. Print labels automatically must be turned on and a Label printer chosen. The rule can be saved without a printer, but then nothing prints.
- Check the printer. It must be Active on Printers, and Zippendo Printer must be open on its computer. See Printer authorization.
- Check the shipment. It must be sent, not only saved.
