Sometimes one shipment has to go out as several parcels or as several shipments. Zippendo has three ways to do that. All of them work before the shipment is sent, while it is Draft or Pending (Move also on Error).

Which one to use

Each button only appears when it makes sense: for example, Split shipment needs more than one order line or a quantity above 1, and Redistribute parcels needs at least two order lines.

Split a shipment

Open the shipment

Go to Shipments and click the shipment. It must be Draft or Pending.

Click Split shipment

On the Parcel details card, click Split shipment on the parcel you want to split. A window with the Shipment board opens.

Drag the items

The Original shipment is on the left. Drag order lines into New shipment 1. Click Add shipment for more columns. To move only some units of a line, click Split on it and choose the Quantity to split off.

Confirm

Click Split shipment. Zippendo creates the new shipments and you see Shipment split. A new shipment was created.
To put the items in more boxes instead, click Redistribute parcels, drag the order lines between the parcels (Add parcel for a new box) and click Save parcels.
After splitting, check that each shipment has the right receiver, weight and dimensions before you send it. You can edit the parcels while the shipment is Pending.

After splitting

  • Shipments list: the new shipments appear next to the original, with the same status as the original (Draft or Pending).
  • Labels: each shipment gets its own label when you send it. See Send a shipment.
  • Order: if the shipment belongs to an order, all its shipments are on the order’s Shipments tab, where you can send them together with Send order.
