The REST API lets your own systems work with Zippendo directly, so your webshop, ERP or warehouse system can create shipments, read orders and get labels without anyone opening the app. Every public endpoint is listed in the API reference tab, with a playground to try requests.

1. Create an API token

1

Open API settings

In app.zippendo.com, open the organization menu at the bottom of the sidebar, click Manage, then API settings.
2

Create a token

Click Add API token, give it a name (for example Production WMS), tick the Permissions it needs, and click Create token. Copy the token right away: it is shown only once.
3

Store it safely

API tokens start with zipp_. Treat them like passwords: keep them in environment variables, never in source control.
See API settings for permissions, expiry, brand restriction and deleting tokens.

2. Find your organization ID

Every endpoint takes your organization ID (orgId) in the path. Ask Zippendo which organization your token belongs to:
The response carries orgId, along with the token’s scopes and expiresAt.

3. Make your first request

Send the token as a Bearer credential on every request:
Replace {orgId} with the ID from step 2. The token needs the read:shipments permission for this call.
Never put API tokens in code that runs in a browser or a mobile app. Call Zippendo from your backend.
Prefer a typed client? Free SDKs for TypeScript, Python, PHP, Go and Ruby cover every endpoint, so you can skip the raw HTTP.
Each plan has a per-minute request budget. See Rate limits.

4. Explore the endpoints

The public API covers: Open the API reference to browse paths and request bodies, and to try requests in the playground.
