Do I need my own GLS Romania agreement?

Yes. Zippendo uses your own GLS Romania contract, your MyGLS login and your client number. We don't resell freight, so the shipping invoice keeps coming from GLS.

Can my customers choose a GLS ParcelShop or parcel locker at checkout?

Yes. When a shipping rule uses GLS ParcelShop Delivery or GLS Parcel Locker Delivery, Shopify live checkout rates and the Zippendo WooCommerce plugin list the GLS points nearest the customer, and the order arrives with the one they chose.

Does GLS Romania support cash on delivery?

Yes. Within Romania, GLS collects up to 7,000 RON at the door, at a ParcelShop or at a parcel locker, and up to 5,000 RON from a company receiver. Cash on delivery to Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Croatia and Slovenia works when your GLS contract includes it.

Which countries can I ship to with GLS Romania?

Address delivery reaches every EU country GLS serves by road, which is all of them except Cyprus and Malta. Countries outside the EU, such as Moldova and Serbia, are not offered, because a MyGLS shipment carries no customs data.

Can I book a GLS courier pickup from Zippendo?

GLS Romania is not available under Pickups, so arrange your regular collections with GLS directly. For a one-off collection, send the shipment with GLS Pick&Ship and a GLS courier picks the parcel up at the sender address in Romania.

When can I start shipping with GLS Romania?

Right away. Create a Zippendo account, add your MyGLS login and client number under Carriers, and your shipping rules can book GLS Romania shipments from the first order. GLS Romania is in beta in Zippendo.

GLS Romania is the GLS parcel network in Romania. It delivers to business and home addresses across the country, runs GLS ParcelShops and parcel lockers where customers collect their parcels, and carries parcels from Romania to the rest of the EU by road. GLS Romania contracts are managed in MyGLS, and Zippendo books your shipments straight into it.

GLS ParcelShops and lockers at checkout

GLS ParcelShop Delivery and GLS Parcel Locker Delivery take a parcel to the point your customer chooses, in Romania or in 19 other European countries. Your Shopify checkout can show live shipping rates from your own shipping rules, including the nearest GLS points to the customer's postcode, and the Zippendo checkout plugin adds the same selector to WooCommerce. The order arrives with the point the customer chose, and Zippendo books GLS ParcelShop Delivery or GLS Parcel Locker Delivery to it. A parcel to a Romanian point can weigh up to 31.5 kg, and up to 20 kg to a point abroad.

Cash on delivery in lei

With CashService, GLS collects up to 7,000 RON from the receiver within Romania, at the door, at a ParcelShop or at a parcel locker, where the receiver pays without cash. GLS's own limit for a company receiver is 5,000 RON, and GLS checks that when you send. To Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Croatia or Slovenia, GLS collects in the destination's currency when your contract includes cash on delivery abroad.

Domestic delivery options

Within Romania, GLS BusinessParcel takes email and SMS notifications, SMS with your own text, an SMS on the delivery day, insurance up to 7,000 RON, cash on delivery, document return and ExchangeService. GLS ExpressParcel delivers by 12:00 the next working day with SMS, insurance, cash on delivery and document return. Every GLS Romania product takes parcels up to 31.5 kg.

Pickups and returns

GLS Pick&Ship sends a courier to collect a parcel at an address in Romania and deliver it within the country. GLS Pick&Return collects a return at your customer's address in Romania or Hungary and brings it to you. Both come with an A4 pickup order instead of a label. Zippendo updates tracking about once an hour.

How do I connect GLS Romania to my webshop?

Connect your shop to Zippendo first, then add your GLS Romania agreement. Zippendo has ready-made integrations for Shopify and WooCommerce, and any other system can send orders through the API. Every product except GLS Pick&Return ships from an address in Romania. You need a GLS Romania contract and your MyGLS login: the email address and password you sign in to MyGLS with, and the GLS client number you ship under.
