About GLS Slovenia
GLS Slovenia is the GLS parcel network in Slovenia, run by General Logistics Systems d.o.o. in Ljubljana. It delivers to business and home addresses across Slovenia, hands parcels over at GLS ParcelShops and GLS parcel lockers (paketomati in Slovenian), and carries parcels from Slovenia to every EU country on the GLS road network. Slovenian GLS contracts are managed in MyGLS, the platform GLS runs across Central and Eastern Europe, and Zippendo books your shipments straight into it.
Why ship with GLS Slovenia through Zippendo?
Zippendo is a multi-carrier shipping platform for webshops and warehouses. You connect your own GLS Slovenia agreement once, and from then on your orders become GLS shipments without anyone copying addresses into MyGLS. You keep the prices you agreed with GLS, and GLS Slovenia keeps invoicing you directly. Slovenia uses the euro, so cash on delivery and insured values on your Slovenian shipments are in euros.
GLS ParcelShops and parcel lockers at checkout
GLS ParcelShop Delivery and GLS Parcel Locker Delivery take a parcel to the GLS point your customer picks, in Slovenia or abroad. Your Shopify checkout can show live shipping rates from your own shipping rules, including the GLS points nearest the customer's postcode, and the Zippendo WooCommerce plugin adds the same selector to your WooCommerce checkout. The order arrives in Zippendo with the point already chosen. Points that are out of order or closed for a holiday today are left out of the list. A parcel to a Slovenian point can weigh up to 31.5 kg, and up to 20 kg to a point in another country.
Cash on delivery in euros to Slovenia, Croatia and Slovakia
With CashService, GLS collects up to 2,000 EUR from the receiver in Slovenia, at the door or at a GLS point. Croatia and Slovakia also use the euro, so cash on delivery to those two countries is collected in euros too, with the same 2,000 EUR ceiling. To Hungary, the Czech Republic and Romania, GLS collects in forints, crowns or lei. Cash on delivery abroad needs your GLS contract to include it, and Zippendo checks the amount before the shipment reaches GLS.
More ways to deliver within Slovenia
Within Slovenia, GLS BusinessParcel takes the full list of services from GLS Slovenia's terms, as far as your GLS contract includes them. DayDefiniteService delivers on the working day you set, Guaranteed24Service guarantees delivery on the next working day, ContactService has the driver call ahead, and AddresseeOnlyService hands the parcel only to the named receiver. GLS ExpressParcel delivers by 12:00 the next working day to the places in Slovenia that GLS lists for express.
Collections from suppliers and returns from across the EU
GLS Pick&Ship sends a courier to collect a parcel at an address anywhere on the GLS road network in the EU and deliver it in Slovenia, for example stock from a supplier in Austria or Italy. GLS Pick&Return collects a return at your customer's address, in Slovenia or another EU country, and brings it back to you. Both come with an A4 pickup order instead of a label, so your customer has nothing to print. Every shipment gets its GLS parcel number, and Zippendo updates its tracking about once an hour.

How do I connect GLS Slovenia to my webshop?
Connect your shop to Zippendo first, then add your GLS Slovenia agreement under Carriers. Zippendo has ready-made integrations for Shopify and WooCommerce, and any other system can send orders through the REST API. Your shipping rules then decide which orders go with GLS Slovenia, next to carriers like GLS Croatia, GLS Hungary, GLS Serbia, DHL Express and UPS on the same platform. See all integrations for the full list.
You need a GLS Slovenia contract and your MyGLS login: the email address and password you sign in to MyGLS with, and the GLS client number your GLS sales contact gave you with the contract. A MyGLS login works only in its own country, so a Slovenian login goes on the GLS Slovenia card. Every product except GLS Pick&Ship and GLS Pick&Return ships from an address in Slovenia. The GLS Slovenia setup guide in our docs walks through every field.
