Do I need my own GLS Croatia agreement?

Yes. Zippendo uses your own GLS Croatia contract, your MyGLS login and your client number. We don't resell freight, so the shipping invoice keeps coming from GLS.

Can my customers choose a GLS ParcelShop or Paketomat at checkout?

Yes. When a shipping rule uses GLS ParcelShop Delivery or GLS Parcel Locker Delivery, Shopify live checkout rates and the Zippendo WooCommerce plugin list the GLS points nearest the customer, and the order arrives with the one they chose. GLS needs the receiver's name, phone number and email address for the pickup notice.

Which countries can I ship to with GLS Croatia?

Every EU country GLS reaches by road, which is all of them except Cyprus and Malta. Neighbours outside the EU, such as Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia, are not offered, because a MyGLS shipment carries no customs data.

Does GLS Croatia support cash on delivery?

Yes. Within Croatia, GLS collects up to 1,659.04 EUR at the door, at a ParcelShop or at a Paketomat, where the receiver pays without cash. To Slovenia, Slovakia, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Romania it works when your GLS contract includes cash on delivery abroad.

Can I book a GLS courier pickup from Zippendo?

GLS Croatia is not available under Pickups, so arrange your regular collections with GLS directly. For a one-off collection, send the shipment with GLS Pick&Ship and a GLS courier picks the parcel up at the sender address and delivers it in Croatia.

When can I start shipping with GLS Croatia?

Right away. Create a Zippendo account, add your MyGLS login and client number under Carriers, and your shipping rules can book GLS Croatia shipments from the first order. GLS Croatia is in beta in Zippendo.

About GLS Croatia

GLS Croatia is the GLS parcel network in Croatia. It delivers to business and home addresses across the country, runs GLS ParcelShops and GLS Paketomat parcel lockers where customers collect their parcels, and carries parcels from Croatia to the rest of the EU over the GLS road network. Your GLS Croatia agreement lives in MyGLS, the platform GLS runs in Croatia and its neighbouring countries, and Zippendo books straight into it.

Why ship with GLS Croatia through Zippendo?

Zippendo is a shipping platform for webshops. You connect your own GLS Croatia agreement once, and from then on your orders become GLS shipments without anyone typing addresses into MyGLS. You keep your GLS prices, and GLS Croatia keeps invoicing you directly. Croatia uses the euro, so cash on delivery and declared values on your Croatian shipments are in euros too.

GLS ParcelShops and Paketomat lockers at checkout

GLS ParcelShop Delivery and GLS Parcel Locker Delivery take a parcel to the ParcelShop or Paketomat your customer chooses, in Croatia or in 19 other European countries. Your Shopify checkout can show live shipping rates from your own shipping rules, including the nearest GLS points to the customer's postcode, and the Zippendo checkout plugin adds the same selector to WooCommerce. The order arrives with the point the customer chose, and Zippendo books GLS ParcelShop Delivery or GLS Parcel Locker Delivery to it. Points GLS marks as out of order or closed for a holiday today are left out. A parcel to a Croatian point can weigh up to 40 kg, and up to 20 kg to a point abroad.

Cash on delivery in euros

With CashService, GLS collects up to 1,659.04 EUR from the receiver within Croatia, at the door or at a ParcelShop or locker. At a Paketomat the receiver cannot pay in cash. To an address in Slovenia, Slovakia, Hungary, the Czech Republic or Romania, GLS collects in the destination's own currency, if your GLS contract includes cash on delivery abroad. Zippendo picks the currency for you and checks the amount before the shipment reaches GLS.

Delivery options for Croatian addresses

Within Croatia, GLS BusinessParcel takes the full GLS Croatia service list: email and SMS notifications, a custom SMS text, an SMS on the delivery day, a driver who calls ahead, handover to the named receiver only, Guaranteed24Service, insurance, document return and ExchangeService. GLS ExpressParcel delivers by 12:00 the next working day in the postcodes GLS serves with express. Express and Guaranteed24Service do not reach every island; GLS refuses those postcodes and the shipment shows the reason.

Collections and returns without a label

GLS Pick&Ship sends a courier to collect a parcel at an address anywhere on the GLS road network in the EU and deliver it in Croatia, for example from a supplier. GLS Pick&Return collects a return at your customer's address and brings it to you. Both give you an A4 pickup order instead of a label, so nobody has to print or hand anything in. Every shipment gets its GLS parcel number, and Zippendo updates its tracking about once an hour.

How do I connect GLS Croatia to my webshop?

Connect your shop to Zippendo first, then add your GLS Croatia agreement. Zippendo has ready-made integrations for Shopify and WooCommerce, and any other system can send orders through the API. Your shipping rules then decide which orders go with GLS Croatia, alongside carriers like GLS Denmark, DPD Polska and DHL Express on the same platform. See all integrations for the full list.

Every product except GLS Pick&Ship and GLS Pick&Return ships from an address in Croatia. GLS Denmark runs on a different system and is its own connection. You need a GLS Croatia contract and your MyGLS login: the email address and password you sign in to MyGLS with, and the GLS client number you ship under.
