Do I need my own GLS Slovakia agreement?

Yes. Zippendo uses your own GLS Slovakia contract, your MyGLS login and your client number. We don't resell freight, so the shipping invoice keeps coming from GLS.

Can my customers choose a GLS ParcelShop or parcel locker at checkout?

Yes. When a shipping rule uses GLS ParcelShop Delivery or GLS Parcel Locker Delivery, Shopify live checkout rates and the Zippendo WooCommerce plugin list the GLS points nearest the customer, in Slovakia or one of the five neighbouring countries GLS Slovakia delivers points to.

Which countries can I ship to with GLS Slovakia?

Address delivery reaches every EU country GLS serves by road, which is all of them except Cyprus and Malta. Express reaches Slovakia and Hungary, and GLS points are in Slovakia, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Romania and Croatia.

Does GLS Slovakia support cash on delivery?

Yes. Within Slovakia, GLS collects up to 2,655.51 EUR at the door or at a GLS point, if your contract includes it. To Hungary, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Slovenia and Romania it works when your contract includes cash on delivery abroad.

Can I book a GLS courier pickup from Zippendo?

GLS Slovakia is not available under Pickups, so arrange your regular collections with GLS directly. For a one-off collection, send the shipment with GLS Pick&Ship and a GLS courier picks the parcel up at the sender address, anywhere on the GLS road network in the EU.

When can I start shipping with GLS Slovakia?

Right away. Create a Zippendo account, add your MyGLS login and client number under Carriers, and your shipping rules can book GLS Slovakia shipments from the first order. GLS Slovakia is in beta in Zippendo.

About GLS Slovakia

GLS Slovakia is the GLS parcel network in Slovakia. It delivers to business and home addresses across the country, runs GLS ParcelShops and parcel lockers, carries parcels from Slovakia across the EU by road and runs a next-day express lane into Hungary. Slovak GLS contracts are managed in MyGLS, and Zippendo books your shipments straight into it.

Why ship with GLS Slovakia through Zippendo?

Zippendo is a shipping platform for webshops. You connect your own GLS Slovakia agreement once, and from then on your orders become GLS shipments without anyone typing addresses into MyGLS. You keep your GLS prices, and GLS Slovakia keeps invoicing you directly. Slovakia uses the euro, so cash on delivery and declared values on your Slovak shipments are in euros.

GLS points in Slovakia and its neighbours

From Slovakia, GLS ParcelShop Delivery and GLS Parcel Locker Delivery reach points in Slovakia, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Romania and Croatia. Your Shopify checkout can show live shipping rates from your own shipping rules, including the nearest GLS points to the customer's postcode, and the Zippendo checkout plugin adds the same selector to WooCommerce. The order arrives with the point the customer chose, and Zippendo books GLS ParcelShop Delivery or GLS Parcel Locker Delivery to it. A parcel to a Slovak point can weigh up to 31.5 kg, and up to 20 kg to a point in another country.

Express within Slovakia and into Hungary

GLS ExpressParcel delivers by 12:00 the next working day in the Slovak postcodes GLS serves with express, and also to Hungary, where GLS sells it as HungaryExpressParcel, up to 40 kg. Within Slovakia it takes SMS services, ContactService, AddresseeOnlyService, insurance, cash on delivery, document return and ExchangeService.

Cash on delivery and set delivery days

With CashService, GLS collects up to 2,655.51 EUR from the receiver within Slovakia, at the door or at a GLS point. To Hungary, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Slovenia or Romania, GLS collects in the destination's currency when your contract includes cash on delivery abroad. GLS BusinessParcel also takes DayDefiniteService, which delivers on the working day you set, and Guaranteed24Service for next-day delivery.

Collections and returns

GLS Pick&Ship sends a courier to collect a parcel at an address on the GLS road network in the EU and deliver it, at home or abroad. GLS Pick&Return collects a return at your customer's address in Slovakia or another EU country and brings it to you. Both come with an A4 pickup order instead of a label. Zippendo updates tracking about once an hour.

How do I connect GLS Slovakia to my webshop?

Connect your shop to Zippendo first, then add your GLS Slovakia agreement. Zippendo has ready-made integrations for Shopify and WooCommerce, and any other system can send orders through the API. Your shipping rules then decide which orders go with GLS Slovakia, alongside carriers like DPD Polska, GLS Denmark and FedEx on the same platform. See all integrations for the full list.

Every product except GLS Pick&Ship and GLS Pick&Return ships from an address in Slovakia. Cash on delivery and the other services must also be part of your GLS contract, or GLS refuses the shipment when you send it. You need a GLS Slovakia contract and your MyGLS login: the email address and password you sign in to MyGLS with, and the GLS client number you ship under.
