About GLS Canada
GLS Canada (GLS Logistics Systems Canada, formerly known as Dicom) is a parcel carrier that delivers to business and home addresses across Canada. Its ground parcel service covers the whole country, and GLS Express is its next-business-day air service for parcels collected in Ontario and Quebec. GLS Canada carries the GLS name but runs separately from GLS in Europe, with its own accounts, prices and online shipping.
Why ship with GLS Canada through Zippendo?
Zippendo is a multi-carrier shipping platform for webshops and warehouses in Canada, the UK and across Europe. You connect your own GLS Canada account once, and from then on your orders become GLS Canada shipments without anyone retyping addresses into GLS Canada's online shipping. You keep your GLS Canada rates, and GLS Canada keeps billing your Parcel account directly. Your team can work in English or French, two of the nine languages the Zippendo app comes in.
Ground parcels from coast to coast
The GLS Canada Parcel product takes parcels between any two addresses in Canada by ground, up to 150 lb per parcel and up to 99 parcels in one shipment. Your shipping rules decide which orders go with GLS Canada, based on the destination, the weight, the order value or the shipping method your customer chose at checkout, and Zippendo books each matching order from Shopify, WooCommerce or your own system.
GLS Express from Ontario and Quebec
GLS Express is GLS Canada's next-business-day air delivery across Canada, for shipments sent from an address in Ontario or Quebec. Every GLS Express parcel needs its length, width and height, and Zippendo checks that they are there before the shipment reaches GLS Canada. A shipping rule can send your express orders with GLS Express and everything else with Parcel.
Residential, signature and weekend delivery
GLS Canada treats an address as a business unless you add Residential delivery, so your shipping rules can add it to orders for home addresses, or add Residential delivery with signature when a parcel must be signed for. For business addresses, No signature required lets the driver leave the parcel without a signature. Weekend delivery, Hold for pickup at a GLS terminal, Trade show delivery and Non-conveyable parcel are available on both products, and Zippendo stops a shipment that combines services that contradict each other. Your GLS Canada contract decides which services you can use.
Declared value in Canadian dollars
With Declared value, GLS Canada covers the shipment's value up to 5,000 CAD. You enter the amount in Canadian dollars on the shipment, and Zippendo checks it before booking. For documents, choose the Envelope package type, and add a note for the driver of up to 255 characters when the delivery needs one.
Orders to the US and the rest of the world
GLS Canada ships between addresses in Canada. For orders to the United States and other countries, the same shipping rules can pick FedEx or UPS on your own account, with the customs data from your order lines travelling with the shipment. One platform covers your Canadian and cross-border orders.
Labels and tracking in one place
GLS Canada returns the shipment's labels as one PDF, which Zippendo Printer sends to your label printer or you download from the shipment. Every parcel carries the shipment's GLS Canada tracking number. GLS Canada tracking events appear in the shipment's timeline about once an hour, where webhooks and integrations such as Klaviyo or Slack can act on them.

How do I connect GLS Canada to my webshop?
Connect your shop to Zippendo first, then add your GLS Canada account. Zippendo has ready-made integrations for Shopify and WooCommerce, and any other system can send orders through the REST API. Your shipping rules then decide which orders go with GLS Canada, alongside carriers like FedEx, UPS and DHL Express on the same platform. See all integrations for the full list.
Every GLS Canada shipment goes from an address in Canada to an address in Canada. You need a GLS Canada Parcel account and its 6-digit billing account number, plus the username or email address and password you sign in to GLS Canada's online shipping with. If you have no online shipping login, ask your GLS Canada contact for one. Test mode needs a separate test login from GLS Canada. The GLS Canada setup guide in our docs walks through every field.
