Do I need my own GLS Hungary agreement?

Yes. Zippendo uses your own GLS Hungary contract, your MyGLS login and your client number. We don't resell freight, so the shipping invoice keeps coming from GLS.

Can my customers choose a GLS ParcelShop or parcel locker at checkout?

Yes. When a shipping rule uses GLS ParcelShop Delivery or GLS Parcel Locker Delivery, Shopify live checkout rates and the Zippendo WooCommerce plugin list the GLS points nearest the customer, and the order arrives with the one they chose.

Can I send express parcels to Slovakia?

Yes. GLS ExpressParcel from Hungary also delivers to Slovakia by 12:00 the next working day, in the postcodes GLS serves with express. It takes no add-on services on that lane.

Does GLS Hungary support cash on delivery?

Yes. Within Hungary, GLS collects up to 500,000 HUF in cash, rounded to the nearest 5 forints, at the door or at a GLS point. Cash on delivery to Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Slovenia and Romania works when your GLS contract includes it.

How do returns work with GLS Hungary?

Add ShopReturnService and GLS prints a return label together with each outbound label. Or book GLS Pick&Return as a return shipment, and a GLS courier collects the parcel at your customer's address.

When can I start shipping with GLS Hungary?

Right away. Create a Zippendo account, add your MyGLS login and client number under Carriers, and your shipping rules can book GLS Hungary shipments from the first order. GLS Hungary is in beta in Zippendo.

GLS Hungary is the GLS parcel network in Hungary. It delivers to business and home addresses across the country, runs GLS ParcelShops and GLS parcel lockers, and carries parcels from Hungary to the rest of the EU by road, with a next-day express lane into Slovakia. GLS Hungary works in MyGLS, and Zippendo books your shipments straight into it.

Zippendo is a shipping platform for webshops. You connect your own GLS Hungary agreement once, and from then on your orders become GLS shipments without anyone typing addresses into MyGLS. You keep your GLS prices, and GLS Hungary keeps invoicing you directly. GLS Hungary has the widest service list of the MyGLS countries in Zippendo, and every service your contract includes can be set once in a shipping rule.

ParcelShops and parcel lockers, with SMS

GLS ParcelShop Delivery and GLS Parcel Locker Delivery take a parcel to the point your customer chooses, in Hungary or in 19 other European countries. Your Shopify checkout can show live shipping rates from your own shipping rules, including the nearest GLS points to the customer's postcode, and the Zippendo checkout plugin adds the same selector to WooCommerce. The order arrives with the point the customer chose, and Zippendo books GLS ParcelShop Delivery or GLS Parcel Locker Delivery to it. Within Hungary a point takes parcels up to 40 kg, and you can add SMS with your own text or an SMS on the delivery day, on top of GLS's own pickup notice. Abroad a point takes up to 20 kg.

Express within Hungary and into Slovakia

GLS ExpressParcel delivers by 12:00 the next working day in the Hungarian postcodes GLS serves with express, and also to Slovakia, where GLS sells it as SlovakiaExpressParcel. Within Hungary it takes SMS services, ContactService, AddresseeOnlyService, insurance, cash on delivery, document return, ExchangeService and DayDefiniteService.

Cash on delivery in forints

With CashService, GLS collects up to 500,000 HUF in cash from the receiver within Hungary, at the door or at a GLS point. GLS collects forints in steps of 5, so Zippendo rounds the amount before it sends the shipment: 1,003 HUF goes to GLS as 1,005 HUF. To Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Slovenia or Romania, GLS collects in the destination's currency when your contract includes cash on delivery abroad.

Shop returns, exchanges and set delivery days

GLS Hungary is the only MyGLS country in Zippendo with ShopReturnService: GLS prints a return label for each parcel together with the outbound label, so the way back is ready before the parcel leaves. ExchangeService swaps an item at the door, DayDefiniteService delivers on the working day you set, and GLS Pick&Return sends a courier to collect a return. Zippendo updates tracking about once an hour.

How do I connect GLS Hungary to my webshop?

Connect your shop to Zippendo first, then add your GLS Hungary agreement. Zippendo has ready-made integrations for Shopify and WooCommerce, and any other system can send orders through the API. Your shipping rules then decide which orders go with GLS Hungary, alongside carriers like GLS Denmark, PostNord and DHL Express on the same platform. See all integrations for the full list.

Every product except GLS Pick&Ship and GLS Pick&Return ships from an address in Hungary. A MyGLS login only works in its own country, so a GLS Hungary login belongs on the GLS Hungary card. You need a GLS Hungary contract and your MyGLS login: the email address and password you sign in to MyGLS with, and the GLS client number you ship under.
