Start with the connection’s delivery log: under Apps & integrations → Connected, click the plug icon on the connection (View delivery log). Each row shows a green tick or a red cross, the number the app answered with, and the app’s own error text when it failed.

The connection cannot be created

What you see

  • Connect stays grey.
  • Couldn’t connect the integration.

What to do

  1. Connect stays grey until Connection name and every field marked * are filled in. For Customer.io, open the Data region list and pick your region even if it already shows US.
  2. If Couldn’t connect the integration keeps coming back, contact support.

The app refuses your credentials

What you see

  • Red crosses in the delivery log with 401 or 403.

What to do

  1. Copy the details again from the app, without spaces before or after.
  2. Check that the key or address may do what Zippendo needs, for example create events in Klaviyo or send mail in SendGrid.
  3. Customer.io: check that Data region matches where your Customer.io account is hosted (US or EU).
  4. Mailchimp: check that Audience ID is the audience ID, not the audience’s name.
  5. SendGrid: check that From email is a verified sender in SendGrid.
  6. Paste the corrected details in with Edit connection. If the app asks for several fields, fill in all of them: whatever you type replaces everything stored for the connection.
See the guide for each app under Integrations overview.

Events do not arrive in the app

What you see

  • The app is on the Connected tab, but the tool never receives anything.
  • The delivery log shows red crosses, or No deliveries yet.

What to do

  1. Click Edit connection and check that the events you expect are ticked.
  2. Make a real event happen, such as sending a test shipment, or use Send test event.
  3. Open the delivery log and read the newest row and its error text.
  4. Paused next to the connection means it was switched off through the Zippendo API, and it sends nothing.
  5. If only some events should go through, or only after a delay, you need an automation rather than a direct connection.
Integrations are not the same as webhooks. A webhook sends events to a web address you run yourself and is set up under Settings → Webhooks. An integration connects to an app such as Klaviyo or Slack under Apps & integrations.

The test event fails, but your details are right

A test event has no customer or order in it. Apps that file events under a customer’s email cannot place it:
  • Mailchimp always shows “No customer email available” for a test event.
  • SendGrid refuses a test event, because it has no receiver and no template.
  • Klaviyo can refuse a test event, because it has no profile to file it under.
Check these apps with a real shipment for an order that has a customer email.

The test event works, but real events do not

Likely causes

  • The event is not ticked on the connection.
  • The details were changed in the app after the test, for example a new key or a removed webhook.
  • The app filters or merges events on its side, which is common in email tools.
  • SendGrid has no template set for that event.

What to do

  • Click Edit connection and tick every event you need.
  • Send another test after you change any details.
  • Look in the app’s own log, such as Klaviyo’s activity or Zapier’s task history.

When to contact support

Contact support when your details are right but the delivery log keeps showing numbers in the 500s, or when you need a Dynamic template ID set for SendGrid.
