Connect Slack
1
Create an incoming webhook in Slack
Create a Slack app, turn on incoming webhooks, pick the channel and copy the webhook address. It starts with
https://hooks.slack.com/services/.2
Open the catalog in Zippendo
Click Apps & integrations in the sidebar, then Catalog, and click Connect on Slack under Apps. Read what Zippendo will do and click Continue.
3
Paste the address
Type a Connection name and paste the address into Incoming webhook URL.
4
Pick the events
Tick the events that should post a message, then click Connect.
5
Test
Click the paper plane on the connection (Send test event). A message titled “Zippendo: Test Event” appears in the channel.
After connecting
- Each ticked event posts a message that starts with “Zippendo:” and the event name, such as “Zippendo: Shipment error”.
- You can add a connection per channel, for example one per warehouse or team.
- Use Automations if only some events should post, such as errors for one carrier.
Troubleshooting
- 404 in the delivery log: the webhook was removed in Slack, or the address is mistyped. Create a new incoming webhook and paste its address in with Edit connection.
- No messages: check that the event is ticked on the connection, then look at the delivery log (the plug icon).
