About GLS Netherlands
GLS Netherlands (General Logistics Systems Netherlands B.V.) is the Dutch company of the GLS parcel network. It delivers parcels to business and home addresses across the Netherlands, runs GLS ParcelShops where customers collect their parcels and hand in returns, and carries parcels from the Netherlands to the other EU countries. Your GLS Netherlands account lives in MyGLS, the customer portal GLS runs in the Netherlands, and Zippendo books straight into it.
Why ship with GLS Netherlands through Zippendo?
Zippendo is a multi-carrier shipping platform for webshops and warehouses. You connect your own GLS Netherlands agreement once, and from then on your orders become GLS shipments without anyone typing addresses into MyGLS. You keep your GLS prices, and GLS Netherlands keeps invoicing you directly. Your team can work in Dutch: the Zippendo app is available in Dutch, English and seven other languages.
GLS ParcelShops at checkout
GLS ParcelShop Delivery takes a parcel to the GLS ParcelShop your customer chooses in the Netherlands. Your Shopify checkout can show live shipping rates from your own shipping rules, including the GLS ParcelShops nearest the customer's postcode, and the Zippendo WooCommerce plugin adds the same selector to WooCommerce. The order arrives with the ParcelShop the customer chose, and Zippendo books GLS ParcelShop Delivery to it. ParcelShops that are closed for a holiday today are left out of the list. The receiver needs an email address or a phone number, so GLS can tell them when the parcel is ready to collect.
Express delivery before 09:00, 12:00 or 17:00
GLS ExpressParcel delivers within the Netherlands before 09:00, 12:00 or 17:00 the next working day, or before one of those times on Saturday. You choose the time on the shipment or in a shipping rule, for example 12:00 for orders where the customer picked a paid express shipping method at checkout. GLS ExpressParcel does not deliver to the Wadden Islands. For standard parcels, SaturdayService adds Saturday delivery to GLS BusinessParcel.
Returns your customers hand in at a GLS ParcelShop
GLS ShopReturn creates a return label for a customer in the Netherlands: they take the parcel to a GLS ParcelShop, and it comes back to you. If you would rather put the return label in the box, add ShopReturnService to GLS BusinessParcel, GLS ExpressParcel or GLS ParcelShop Delivery, and GLS prints a return label together with the parcel label. With GLS Pick&Return, GLS collects the return at your customer's address in the Netherlands or another EU country and brings it to you, so your customer prints nothing.
Collections with Pick&Ship
GLS Pick&Ship sends a GLS courier to collect a parcel at an address in the Netherlands, for example at a supplier or a second warehouse, and deliver it in the Netherlands or another EU country. No label is printed. Regular collections from your own warehouse are arranged with GLS Netherlands directly.
Labels that print themselves and one tracking timeline
With shipping rules you decide once which GLS product and services an order should use. When an order matches, Zippendo books it with GLS Netherlands and the label prints on your warehouse printer with Zippendo Printer, as an A6 PDF or as ZPL for a Zebra printer at 203 or 300 dpi. Each parcel gets its own label and GLS parcel number. GLS tracking events appear in the shipment's timeline about once an hour, where webhooks and integrations such as Klaviyo or Slack can act on them.

How do I connect GLS Netherlands to my webshop?
Connect your shop to Zippendo first, then add your GLS Netherlands agreement. Zippendo has ready-made integrations for Shopify and WooCommerce, and any other system can send orders through the REST API. Your shipping rules then decide which orders go with GLS Netherlands, alongside carriers like PostNL, DHL Parcel Benelux and GLS Belgium on the same platform. See all integrations for the full list.
Every outbound product ships from a sender address in the Netherlands, and destinations outside the EU are not offered. You need a GLS Netherlands contract and the username and password of your MyGLS account, which GLS Netherlands gives you with the contract. This is GLS Netherlands' own MyGLS login, not the MyGLS of GLS in Central Europe. If your MyGLS account holds more than one GLS customer number, you also enter the one you ship with.
