nShift alternatives for webshops in 2026: 7 options compared

Why webshops leave nShift, and seven alternatives for Nordic webshops compared on price model, carrier agreements, carriers and how you start.

insights

The best nShift alternative depends on why you want to leave. If you want to stay with nShift but on a smaller, self-service product, nShift Delivery has published prices and a 30-day free trial. If you want to see the price before a sales call, Shipmondo, Sendcloud, Shipit, Smart Send and Zippendo all publish their plans and let you start on your own. And if you ship hundreds of thousands of parcels a year and want freight and software in one price, Homerunner is built for that volume. Below are seven options compared on price model, carrier agreements, Nordic carriers and how you get started, with prices checked 6 November 2026.

Key takeaways

  • nShift does not publish prices: its pricing page leads to a sales form.

  • Unless otherwise agreed, its general terms describe a 12-month subscription that renews automatically if you do not cancel in writing 30 days before.

  • nShift itself points small businesses to nShift Delivery, a separate self-service product with published prices.

  • Six of the seven alternatives here publish their prices and let you start without talking to sales.

  • Before you switch, find your renewal date and notice period, and check that your carrier agreements are in your own name.

Why webshops look for an nShift alternative

nShift is a large enterprise suite. It brought Unifaun, Consignor, Returnado, Webshipper and Transsmart together, and it claims over 1,000 carriers and 450+ integrations with order, ERP and warehouse systems. For a large retailer with many markets, that breadth is the point. For a webshop, four things on the nShift website itself tend to start the search for something else:

  • No published price. The nShift pricing page leads to a "Contact nShift sales" form, and the main call to action is "Book a demo". You cannot see what it costs before a meeting.
  • Separate products. nShift sells Checkout, Deliver, Track, Returns, Emissions and Audit as separate products, so checkout, labels, tracking and returns are scoped one by one.
  • A 12-month default term. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the nShift general terms describe a 12-month subscription that renews for another 12 months unless either side cancels in writing 30 days before the period ends.
  • Tiers and price changes. The same terms let nShift charge you retroactively for a higher subscription tier if you exceed yours, and adjust its fees once a year with 40 days of notice.

None of this makes nShift a poor product. It describes how nShift is bought, and that buying model fits large shippers better than a webshop that wants to try something this afternoon.

How we picked the alternatives

We looked for tools a Nordic webshop on Shopify or WooCommerce can actually switch to, and compared them on price model, entry price, own carrier agreements, Nordic carriers (PostNord, GLS, DAO, Bring, Budbee, Instabox, Helthjem, Posti, Matkahuolto) and how you get started. Every fact comes from the vendor's own website, checked 6 November 2026, in the currency the vendor publishes. Zippendo makes one of the seven options, and we have described it by the same rules as the others, limits included. For the full field of ten, including Webshipper, Pakkeshopper and nShift itself, see our buying guide to the best shipping software for webshops.

To compare the published prices at your own monthly volume, use our price comparison.

1. nShift Delivery

If what bothers you is the buying model rather than nShift itself, start here. nShift Delivery is the self-signup product nShift offers small businesses, with prices on its website. The Essential plan starts at ≈ €34 a month for 85 shipments, the 2,500-shipment step is ≈ €453, and every plan has a 30-day free trial with month-to-month or annual billing. You connect your own carriers, from a list of over 200 that covers every Nordic carrier in this guide, including Matkahuolto. There is a native WooCommerce plugin and a Shopify app with service points at checkout.

Limits. You pick a volume step up front and pay per shipment above it. Batch label printing starts on Professional (≈ €62 a month and up), and branded tracking notifications on Premium (≈ €93 and up). See our comparison of Zippendo and nShift Delivery.

2. Shipmondo

Shipmondo is a Danish platform with a low subscription and a fee on every label, and it can sell you its own carrier rates on every plan. Essentials is ≈ €13 a month and Pro ≈ €33. On your own agreement, each label costs from ≈ €0.08 down to ≈ €0.02 depending on monthly volume, plus a one-off ≈ €67 per carrier customer number. It lists 57 carriers, has a return portal on every plan and works with Shopify and WooCommerce. Its plans run month to month.

Limits. No own agreements on the Free plan, and only two on Essentials. Every label is billed, so the cost rises with volume. Matkahuolto is not on its carrier list. See our comparison of Zippendo and Shipmondo.

3. Sendcloud

Sendcloud is a Dutch platform with 170+ carriers, a free plan on its own rates and a 14-day free trial. Lite is €28 a month plus €0.10 per label on yearly billing (€35 plus €0.12 monthly), and own carrier contracts start on Lite. Its Shopify integration shows service points before payment without Shopify Plus, and a branded return portal comes with Growth.

Limits. Sendcloud fully supports shipping from eight countries: Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and the United Kingdom. From Denmark or Sweden you need an invoice address in one of them and a direct carrier contract, and Norway and Finland are not on the list. See our comparison of Zippendo and Sendcloud.

4. Smart Send

Smart Send is a Danish app built mostly around Shopify. The Checkout plan is €12 a month with 100 orders and one carrier, and Standard is €30 a month (€25 yearly) with 100 orders and €0.10 per order after that. There is a 10-day trial and no binding period. It covers PostNord, GLS, DAO, Bring, Budbee, DHL and Danske Fragtmænd, and has a WooCommerce plugin too.

Limits. Instabox, Helthjem, Posti and Matkahuolto are not on its carrier list, and its pages are not consistent on whether you can ship on its agreements or only your own.

5. Shipit

Shipit is a Finnish platform. The Free plan ships on Shipit rates, and paid plans add your own agreements: Start is €9.90 a month with one carrier at €0.20 per label, up to Pro at €99.90 with unlimited carriers at €0.14. It covers Posti, Matkahuolto, PostNord, Bring, Budbee, GLS, DHL, DPD and DSV, with a Shopify checkout app and WooCommerce support.

Limits. DAO, Helthjem and Instabox are not named on its site, and the return tool is an add-on from €19.90 a month plus €0.50 per return.

6. Homerunner

Homerunner is aimed at high volumes, like nShift, but with a different deal: no setup fee, no subscription, and a price per parcel on rates negotiated on the combined volume of its customers. It covers over 40 local carriers, including every Nordic carrier in this guide, lets you keep your own agreements where they are better, and handles customs and dangerous goods.

Limits. Homerunner says it is typically a good fit from around 200,000 shipments a year. Prices and commitment terms come in a proposal, so you still start with a conversation.

7. Zippendo

Zippendo is a Danish multi-carrier platform for webshops on their own carrier agreements, with shipments included in the plan and no fee per label. The Free plan covers 100 shipments a month at no cost. Standard is €79 a month with 2,500 shipments, Growth €159 with 7,500 and Pro €239 with 15,000, and each shipment above that costs €0.02 to €0.04. You can pay monthly or yearly, and you can sign up, connect a carrier and print a label without talking to anyone. Nordic carriers include PostNord, GLS, DAO, Bring, Budbee, Instabox, Helthjem, Posti and Matkahuolto, on Shopify and WooCommerce. See the plans on our pricing page.

Limits. Zippendo does not sell carrier rates, so you need your own agreement. There is no return portal, only return labels. Pro has five order channels, and Enterprise is priced by agreement. A setup with an ERP in the middle takes longer than a plain webshop. There is no carrier invoice audit. See our comparison of Zippendo and nShift.

What about Webshipper?

Webshipper is not on this list because it is part of nShift: its Enterprise plan is "an nShift product", and nShift names Webshipper among the brands in its suite. Its smaller plans have published prices, from ≈ €151 a month for 500 shipments. We cover it in the full buying guide.

What to check before you leave nShift

  1. Find your renewal date and notice period. Under the nShift default terms you cancel in writing 30 days before the period ends; your own agreement may say otherwise.
  2. Check who owns your carrier agreements. Agreements in your own name with PostNord, GLS, DAO or Bring move with you. Rates you buy through a platform stay with that platform.
  3. List what nShift does for you today. Checkout, labels, tracking emails, returns and invoice audit may be separate products, and you need a replacement for each one you use.
  4. Export your setup. Write down your shipping rules, sender addresses and the integrations to your webshop, ERP or warehouse.
  5. Run both side by side. The same carrier agreement can usually be connected in two systems, so move one webshop or one country first and the rest after a week or two.
