Do I need my own carrier agreements?

Yes. Zippendo does not resell freight, so you bring your own accounts with PostNord, GLS, DAO, Bring, DHL and the rest, and you keep settling the freight bill with them. If you do not have agreements yet, most Nordic carriers will set one up for a shop doing real volume, and we can point you at the right people.

Do you charge per label?

No. The plan includes the shipments — 2,500 on Standard, 7,500 on Growth, 15,000 on Pro — and past that it is a couple of cents a shipment. Creating a label costs nothing extra, and neither does connecting a carrier.

Can I connect more than one webshop?

Standard connects one, Growth two and Pro five, and extra connections are a paid add-on on any of them. If you run several storefronts, tell us how many and we will tell you honestly which plan lands cheapest.

What happens to my tracking pages and emails?

Tracking keeps running through us: we take the carrier's webhooks where they offer them and poll where they do not, and the timeline, the branded tracking page and the notifications come from your own setup in Zippendo.

Sendcloud figures are from their own public pricing page, monthly billing, EUR. The 2,500-shipment row is our arithmetic on their published numbers: their Growth plan caps at 12,000 labels a year, so 2,500 a month lands on Premium at €175 plus 2,500 × €0.08.

Reason 1

The plan price is the price

Zippendo Standard is €80 a month with 2,500 shipments in it, Growth €160 with 7,500, Pro €240 with 15,000. Past the included volume it is a couple of cents a shipment. There is no second meter.

Sendcloud bills a monthly plan and then a fee on each label on top, from €0.10 down to €0.07 as you move up the plans, with an annual label ceiling on each tier. A shop sending 2,500 a month clears the Growth plan's 12,000-a-year ceiling, so it sits on Premium: €175 a month plus €200 of label fees.

Reason 2

Your own agreements from the first day

Zippendo is built on the assumption that the rates are yours. You add your PostNord, GLS, DAO, Bring or DHL account with your own credentials, you settle freight with the carrier, and we never sit in the middle of that transaction — on any plan, including the free one.

Sendcloud's free tier ships on Sendcloud's own rates; using your own carrier contracts starts on their Lite plan.

Reason 3

The Nordics are the home market, not a region

DAO, PostNord, GLS, Bring, Budbee, Instabox and Porterbuddy are integrated here as first-class carriers, with service-point lookup at checkout, carrier tracking webhooks feeding the timeline, and the customs paperwork the Nordic cross-border flows actually need. When a Danish carrier changes an endpoint, it is our production problem that week.

Sendcloud's home market is the Netherlands and its network is built out broadly across Western Europe.

Reason 4

An API in the language you already write

Free client libraries for TypeScript, Python, PHP, Go and Ruby, all generated from the same public OpenAPI spec so they cannot drift from the API. Plus an MCP server, so an AI agent can book a shipment or chase a tracking number without glue code.

Sendcloud publishes a REST API.

Where Sendcloud is the better fit

If you do not have your own carrier agreements and do not want them, Sendcloud is the better answer. Their negotiated rates are the product for a lot of their customers, and we do not offer that at all — Zippendo assumes you bring your own contracts, and if you are shipping fifty parcels a month that is a worse deal, not a better one. They also connect more shops and marketplaces out of the box than we do, and more of them on a cheaper plan. Our Standard plan connects one webshop; theirs connects three. If you are running four storefronts on a small budget, count that carefully before you move. And if your volume is spread thin across a lot of Western-European countries rather than concentrated in the Nordics, their carrier coverage is broader than ours.
