# Connect DPD Polska

> Connect DPD Polska in Zippendo with your DPDServices Login, Password and Payer number (FID), add a DPD Pickup API key for service points, and choose between test and live.

Connect **DPD Polska** to create DPD labels from Zippendo for parcels within Poland and from Poland to the rest of Europe, deliveries to DPD Pickup service points and lockers, pickups and customer returns. Every DPD Polska product ships from an address in Poland.

This page covers DPD Polska only. The fields every carrier shares are on [Carrier credentials](/docs/how-to/carrier-credentials). Walkthrough: [Carriers](/docs/tutorials/carriers).

## What you need from DPD Polska

* A DPD Polska agreement with access to **DPDServices**. After you sign the agreement, DPD Polska gives you a **login**, a **password** and your **payer number (FID)**.
* Optional: a **payer sub-number (numkat)**, if your account has one.
* Optional: a **DPD Pickup API key** from DPD, if you want to search for DPD Pickup service points and lockers in Zippendo.

## What to enter

| Field | Required | Description in the form | What to enter |
| - | - | - | - |
| **Carrier name** | Yes | | The name you see in Zippendo. Keep "DPD Polska" or change it. |
| **Brand** | No | **Only this brand can use this carrier.** | Shown only if your organization has [brands](/docs/how-to/create-a-brand). |
| **Login** | Yes | Your DPDServices web-service login, issued by DPD Polska. | Your DPDServices login. |
| **Password** | Yes | Your DPDServices web-service password. | The password that belongs to that login. |
| **Payer number (FID)** | Yes | Your DPD payer number (master FID). Digits only. Sent on every request. | Your payer number, digits only. |
| **Payer sub-number (numkat)** | No | Payer sub-number billed for shipments. Leave empty to bill the master FID. | Only if DPD should bill a sub-number instead of your main payer number. |
| **DPD Pickup API key** | No | Key for DPD's Pickup (mypudo) point finder. Needed only to search service points and lockers. | Your DPD Pickup key, if you ship with **DPD Pickup**. |
| **Test mode** | No | Use DPD's demo environment | Leave it off for real shipments. See below. |

## Test or live

With **Test mode** on, Zippendo sends your shipments to DPD's demo system. Enter the demo login and payer number that DPD Polska publishes for that system, not your own. With it off, enter your own. Searching for DPD Pickup service points always uses DPD's real system, even in test mode. Turn **Test mode** off before you ship real orders. More in [Test mode](/docs/how-to/sandbox-mode).

## After you connect

You choose a DPD Polska product when you [create a shipment](/docs/how-to/send-a-shipment) or a [shipping rule](/docs/how-to/shipping-rule-fields). See [Carrier products and services](/docs/how-to/carrier-products-and-services).

| Product | Use it for |
| - | - |
| **DPD Classic** | Delivery to a business or home address in Poland |
| **DPD Pickup** | Delivery to a DPD Pickup service point or locker in Poland, one parcel per shipment |
| **DPD Classic International** | Road delivery from Poland to Europe |
| **DPD Express International** | Air delivery from Poland to Europe |
| **DPD Return** (return shipment) | A customer in Poland sends a parcel back to you |

Services you can add include **Cash on delivery** (with **COD amount**), **Declared value (insurance)**, **Return of documents**, **Saturday delivery**, **Delivery before 09:30**, **Delivery before 12:00**, **Next-day delivery**, **Same-day delivery**, **B2C delivery window** and, on international shipments, **Duty (customs charges)**. Some services must first be turned on for your DPD account. If one is not, DPD refuses the shipment and the shipment shows DPD's reason.

* **Service points:** for **DPD Pickup**, choose the service point in the **Service point** section of the shipment before you send. The search needs the **DPD Pickup API key**. See [Pick a service point](/docs/how-to/pick-a-service-point).
* **Pickups:** you can book DPD Polska pickups from addresses in Poland under **Pickups**. You choose the address and date, and Zippendo books the widest time slot DPD offers for your postal code. You cannot cancel a DPD pickup in Zippendo. Contact DPD with the order number, which is the part before the colon in the **Carrier reference** column. See [Schedule a pickup](/docs/how-to/schedule-a-pickup).
* **Tracking:** Zippendo fetches tracking from DPD regularly. There is nothing to set up.
* **Customs:** DPD Polska does not create customs documents or a commercial invoice. Fill in the customs fields on each order line. If the route needs an invoice, turn on **Generate commercial invoice** or **Generate proforma invoice** under **Document generation** on the shipping rule, and Zippendo creates it. See [Customs and documents](/docs/how-to/customs-and-documents).

## If the connection fails

Zippendo saves your DPD details without checking them. A mistake shows up the first time you send a shipment.

| What you see | What to do |
| - | - |
| Nothing happens when you click **Connect** | Fill in **Carrier name**, **Login**, **Password** and **Payer number (FID)**. |
| **You've reached your plan's limit. Upgrade your plan or remove something you no longer use.** | Your plan's carrier limit is reached. Upgrade or delete a carrier you no longer use ([Billing and usage](/docs/how-to/billing-and-usage)). |
| **The carrier rejected your login details. Update the carrier credentials under Carriers.** | Check **Login** and **Password**, and check that **Test mode** matches them: on for the demo login, off for your own. |
| **DPD Polska couldn't create the shipment.** | DPD refused the shipment. The shipment shows DPD's reason, for example an unknown postal code or a service that is not turned on for your account. Fix it and send again. |
| **The carrier's settings are incomplete or not valid. Check them under Carriers.** | A carrier field is wrong or missing. Check that both payer numbers contain digits only. If it happened while searching for a service point, add the **DPD Pickup API key**. |
| **This product delivers to a service point. Select a service point before sending.** | Choose a service point on the shipment. |
| **The selected carrier product does not ship between these countries. Choose a different product.** | Choose a DPD Polska product that covers the receiver's country. |
| **The connection to the carrier was lost before it answered. Zippendo has no confirmation that the shipment was created, so check with the carrier before sending again.** | Check with DPD Polska whether the shipment exists before you send it again. |

More help: [Carrier authentication failures](/docs/knowledge-base/carrier-authentication-failures).

## Change or remove the connection

* **Change:** on **My carriers**, click **Edit carrier**. Update the fields under **Carrier settings** and click **Save**.
* **Remove:** on the same page, click **Delete**, type the carrier name in capital letters (for example `DPD POLSKA`) and click **Delete**. Shipping rules that use this carrier are deleted too. Shipments you already sent keep their labels and tracking numbers. A carrier with booked pickups cannot be deleted.
