# Connect DPD Hungary
> Connect DPD Hungary under Carriers with your Login, Password, Customer ID and Sender address ID, plus the optional Customer account number and Test mode.
**DPD Hungary** sends parcels from Hungary, within Hungary and across the EU: to the door, to DPD Pickup service points and lockers, with cash on delivery, and as timed express deliveries within Hungary. The fields that every carrier shares are on [Carrier credentials](/docs/how-to/carrier-credentials).
You do not pick a sender address on this form. Add your addresses under the organization menu → **Manage** → **Addresses**. You choose the sender address on each shipment or in a [shipping rule](/docs/how-to/shipping-rule-fields). DPD Hungary sends from an address in Hungary. The label prints the pickup address DPD Hungary has on file for your **Sender address ID**, not the sender address on the shipment.
## Before you start
* A DPD Hungary account for Zippendo: a **login**, a **password**, your **customer ID** and the **sender address ID** of your registered pickup address. Ask DPD Hungary's integration team at [integracio@dpd.hu](mailto:integracio@dpd.hu).
* Optional: your **customer account number**, if DPD issued one.
* For **Test mode**, separate test credentials from DPD Hungary. Your live credentials do not work in DPD's test system.
You can connect DPD Hungary more than once. Give each connection its own **Carrier name**. To send from a second pickup address, connect again with that address's **Sender address ID**. **Learn more** on the card opens the DPD Hungary website ([dpd.com/hu](https://www.dpd.com/hu/en/)).
## Connect DPD Hungary
In the sidebar, click **Carriers**, then open the **All carriers** tab.
On the **DPD Hungary** card, click **Connect**.
The **Connect carrier** window opens. **Carrier name** is already filled in with "DPD Hungary". Enter your **Login**, **Password**, **Customer ID** and **Sender address ID**. **Customer account number** and **Test mode** are under **Optional fields**.
Click **Connect**. You see "Carrier connected", and the carrier appears on the **My carriers** tab.
## Fields on the form

| **Carrier name** | Yes | The name you see on **My carriers** and when you pick a carrier on a shipment. It starts as **DPD Hungary**. |
| **Brand** | No | Shown only if your organization has [brands](/docs/how-to/create-a-brand). The form says: "Only this brand can use this carrier." Leave it empty to let every brand use it. |
| **Login** | Yes | The login from DPD Hungary's integration team. The form says: "The API login DPD Hungary issued you." |
| **Password** | Yes | The password that came with the login. It is long, so paste it whole. The form says: "The password DPD Hungary issued with the login: a long code of letters and digits." |
| **Customer ID** | Yes | The form says: "Your DPD Hungary customer ID." |
| **Sender address ID** | Yes | Digits only. Each pickup address on your DPD account has its own ID. The form says: "ID of your registered pickup address at DPD Hungary. The label prints that address." |
| **Customer account number** | No | Only if your DPD account has one. The form says: "Your DPD Hungary customer account number, if DPD issued one." |
| **Test mode** | No | A checkbox, off by default. The form says: "Use DPD's test environment. Requires test credentials from DPD Hungary." |
**Connect** does nothing until **Carrier name**, **Login**, **Password**, **Customer ID** and **Sender address ID** have a value.
**Test mode** sends your shipments to DPD's test system. Test credentials only work with it on, and live credentials only with it off. Leave it off for real orders. See [Test mode](/docs/how-to/sandbox-mode).
## After you connect
The carrier appears on **My carriers** with a **Connected** badge. You choose the product on each shipment or in a shipping rule, not on this form. See [Carrier products and services](/docs/how-to/carrier-products-and-services). A product that is not on your DPD contract is refused when you send, with DPD's reason.

Every DPD Hungary shipment needs the receiver's **email address**. Add the receiver's phone number too, and DPD also sends its delivery notice by SMS. Every parcel needs a weight.
Every destination is inside the EU, so DPD Hungary shipments need no customs declaration. Åland and the Canary Islands are not offered. There is no DPD Hungary return product in Zippendo.
### Labels and addresses
Labels are A6 PDF, one page per parcel. DPD Hungary prints at most 35 characters per line. A long name or city is shortened on the label. A street address that does not fit on two lines of 35 characters is refused, so shorten it and send again.
### DPD Pickup service points and lockers
**DPD Pickup (service point or locker)** delivers to a service point or locker. Choose it in the **Service point** section of the shipment before you send. The search lists DPD service points and lockers in Hungary near the receiver. DPD Pickup also needs the parcel's length, width and height, and exactly one parcel per shipment. To send more parcels, split them into one shipment each. See [Split and move parcels](/docs/how-to/split-and-move-parcels).
### Cash on delivery
Add the **Cash on delivery** service and fill in **COD amount** under **Extra details for the carrier**. It works on **DPD Classic**, **DPD Home** and **DPD Pickup (service point or locker)**. The express products do not offer it. DPD collects cash on delivery in these countries, in the destination's currency:

Leave **COD currency** empty to use the destination's currency. On a shipment with several parcels, DPD collects the full amount once. At a service point or locker, the receiver pays by card.
### Pickups and tracking
* DPD Hungary is not available under **Pickups**. Arrange pickups with DPD Hungary directly. A DPD Hungary shipment has no pickup window you can set. See [Schedule a pickup](/docs/how-to/schedule-a-pickup) for the carriers that are.
* Zippendo fetches tracking updates from DPD Hungary about once an hour. There is nothing to set up. The tracking timeline stays empty until DPD first scans the parcel at its depot. Shipments sent with **Test mode** on get no tracking events. See [Carrier tracking webhooks](/docs/how-to/tracking-webhooks).
## Change or remove the connection
To change it, open **Carriers** → **My carriers** and click **Edit carrier** on the card. The **Edit carrier** page has two sections:
* **General**: **Carrier name**, and **Brand** if your organization has brands.
* **Carrier settings**: **Login**, **Password**, **Customer ID**, **Sender address ID**, **Customer account number** and **Test mode**.
Click **Save**. You see "Carrier updated".
To remove it, click **Delete** on the same page, type the carrier name in capital letters (for example `DPD HUNGARY`), and click **Delete**. Shipping rules that use this carrier are deleted with it. Shipments you already sent keep their labels and tracking numbers.
## Common problems
| What you see | What to do |

| Nothing happens when you click **Connect** | Fill in **Carrier name**, **Login**, **Password**, **Customer ID** and **Sender address ID**. |
| "Couldn't connect the carrier. Try again." | Check the fields, then try again. |
| "You've reached your plan's limit. Upgrade your plan or remove something you no longer use." or "You're over your plan's limits. Upgrade your plan or remove what you no longer use." | Your plan's carrier limit is reached. See [Billing and usage](/docs/how-to/billing-and-usage). |
| "The carrier rejected your login details. Update the carrier credentials under Carriers." when you send | The **Login** or **Password** is wrong, or it does not match **Test mode** (test credentials with **Test mode** off, or the other way round). Fix it on **Edit carrier**. |
| "The carrier's settings are incomplete or not valid. Check them under Carriers." | The **Customer ID** or **Sender address ID** is wrong, or that address has no DPD parcel numbers left. The shipment names the setting to check. Correct it under **Carrier settings**, or ask DPD Hungary for new parcel numbers. |
| "DPD Hungary couldn't create the shipment." | DPD refused the shipment. The shipment shows the reason, for example a missing receiver email address, a DPD Pickup parcel without its size, more than one parcel to a DPD Pickup service point, or cash on delivery that DPD does not offer there. Fix it and send again. |
| "This product delivers to a service point. Select a service point before sending." | Choose a DPD Pickup service point or locker on the shipment. |
| "The selected carrier product does not ship between these countries. Choose a different product." | Choose a DPD Hungary product that covers the receiver's country. |
| "The carrier accepted the shipment but returned no label or QR code, and Zippendo can't request it again. Ask the carrier for it, and don't send the shipment again." | DPD accepted the parcel without a label. Ask DPD Hungary for the label. Do not send the shipment again. |
| "The carrier did not respond. Try again in a moment." | DPD did not answer before anything was created. Send the shipment again. |
| "The connection to the carrier was lost before it answered. Zippendo has no confirmation that the shipment was created, so check with the carrier before sending again." | Check with DPD Hungary whether the shipment exists before you send it again. |
| "We can't reach the carriers right now. Try again in a moment." | Wait a moment, then send again. |
| "The carrier rejected this. Check the carrier's reason, correct the details and try again." | Read DPD's reason on the shipment, correct the details and send again. |
